Mazeau Street, looking south from 57th Avenue.

Much of Mazeau Street remains the same today, with some of the homes here dating back to the 19th century. The house on the corner at left has been replaced by a laundromat. The house with the peaked roof in the distance and its neighbor became a controversial construction site in recent years. In 1940, the 3-story mixed-use building on the right had Nick Scarane’s Tailor Shop
as a tenant on the ground floor.
